COVID 19 Policies
These policies are subject to change as we continue to get guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Public Health.

General Office Policy Regarding COVID-19

We require patients to be properly masked prior to entering the office.

Face masks should have elastic bands around the ears and are required to be worn for the entire duration of patient visit.

We will reschedule patients that arrive without a mask.

We will be unable to provide patients with face masks due to the national PPE shortage.

We have limited capacity in our waiting areas. Unless a patient requires assistance with interpretation or medical decision making all guests should remain in their vehicles while patients are being seen in our office.

Only patients can enter the office.

Family members must wait outside.

If you need wheelchair assistance please let our staff know so they can escort you into the building with a wheelchair.

All patients will receive a prescreening phone call prior to their appointment.

Any patients who are symptomatic or have recently been exposed to the virus will be rescheduled.

If you are febrile at the time of visit, your appointment will be rescheduled for a later date.

Our staff ensures that exam rooms and any other high-touch areas are cleaned between each patient and again at the end of the day.

We have removed all shared items (magazines, flyers, etc.) from waiting/patient areas.

If you are coming for a procedure, you would be changing into a gown. Your belongings will remain in a clear bag. Please leave any valuables at home. Only bring the insurance card, ID and your copay with you.

For all non-procedural visits patients are welcome to use our HIPAA Compliant Telehealth service through Mount Auburn MyChart.

Please download Zoom into your phone or computer and have access to MyChart.

If you need access to MyChart, our staff can help.

Procedures
-
Prior to leaving your home you must take your temperature. If your temperature is 99.0 F or higher you must call our office to reschedule.

You must wear a mask when entering our building, and will need to keep your mask on for the duration of your visit at our office.

You will have your temperature taken prior to entering our office.

If you are being transported by wheelchair please let our staff member know, we will have a staff member meet you at your vehicle to transport you in our wheelchair.

Please wear comfortable clothing.

Please bring minimum belongings with you, leave all valuables at home.

During pre-operative assessment your blood pressure and heart rate will be taken.

You will sign your informed consent, COVID-19 questionnaire, and pre-operative questionnaire prior to procedure.

You will have your blood pressure and heart rate retaken after the procedure.

You will be given a copy of discharge instructions and any additional instructions given by Dr. Mostoufi.

If you had stopped a medication (s) for procedure, you will be given instructions when to restart medication(s).

Once you are ready to be discharged, we will call your driver to let them know you are ready to be picked up in parking lot.

Follow up appointments are conducted through our HIPAA Compliant Teleheath Service through Mount Auburn MyChart or in person at our Cambridge and Stoneham locations.

All patients receiving anesthesia services are required to have a negative COVID-19 test at least three days prior to their procedure.
